.A strong dry cold front racing south through northeast Colorado
late this afternoon will bring sustained northerly winds of 15 to
30 mph and even higher gusts to around 40 mph to lower elevations.
At higher elevations of the Front Range mountains, northwest winds
of 30 to 50 mph are also likely with passage of the cold front.
The high mountain ridges and peaks in the Jackson and Larimer
Counties may even see some light snowfall later this evening. The
strong gusty frontal winds and low relative humidity will create
extreme fire danger mainly in areas south and east of I-76 through
early this evening. After the passage of this cold front, expect a
quick drop off in temperature and a steady rise in relative humidity
as wind speeds gradually weaken later this evening. This will
