Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 21 at 3:11PM CDT until May 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Corpus Christi Aransas Islands; Calhoun Islands; Coastal Aransas; Coastal Calhoun; Coastal Kleberg; Coastal Nueces; Coastal Refugio; Coastal San Patricio; Kleberg Islands; Nueces Islands ...MINOR COASTAL FLOODING WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... .Higher than normal astronomical tides along with persistent strong to very strong onshore flow will maintain high water levels through at least Wednesday morning across the inland bays and Gulf-facing beaches of the Middle Texas Coast. The water levels will be at their highest around the time of high tide. ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT WEDNESDAY... * COASTAL FLOODING...Water levels at the time of high tide will range from 1.0 foot of inundation (2 feet above mean sea level) in the bays to 1.6 feet of inundation (2.6 feet above mean sea level) for Gulf-facing beaches. * TIMING...Through Wednesday Morning. * IMPACTS...Water will reach the dunes and beach access roads on Mustang and Padre Islands at the time of high tide. Driving conditions may not be possible along Gulf-facing beaches at the time of high tide as a result. Low-lying areas such as Laguna Shores Drive in Corpus Christi as well as Indian Point Pier and North Beach will also be affected by the high water levels. High water levels will also flood other low-lying areas along the intracoastal waterway and adjacent bays. A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
