.DISCUSSION...The extended period of offshore flow will continue
into Friday...focused over Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Little
change expected through Wednesday with peak gusts in the 20 to 40 mph
range in the wind prone areas. Strengthening is expected Thursday
into early Friday. The humidities will remain incredibly dry with
extremely poor overnight recoveries nearly everywhere. This will
result in continued critical conditions into Friday, especially
Thursday afternoon and night when the winds peak. The Santa
Barbara County Mountains may experience critical conditions
Thursday afternoon and night.

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Fire Weather Watch for gusty northeast winds and low relative
humidity, which is in effect from Thursday morning through Friday
* Winds...Northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph Thursday
into Friday morning.
* Relative Humidity...Daily minimum 5 to 10 percent with poor
* Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
for rapid spread of wildfire and extreme fire behavior that
could lead to a threat to life and property. Use extreme caution
with potential fire ignition sources.
